UEFA won't reduce £176 tickets

The price of attending the 2011 Champions League final will not change despite UEFA president Michel Platini admitting they were too expensive.

European football's governing body drew furious criticism for the price of general sale tickets for the Wembley showpiece on May 28.

The cheapest available tickets will cost £150, with a further administration fee of £26.

Platini told French newspaper L'Equipe: "It's good that we have been alerted about it and we are going to look at it again in the future."

Adding that the tickets for the Champions League final should be half the cost that they are currently, Platini conceded that the pricing "isn't brilliant".

UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino, however, said that despite Platini's words there would be no reduction in prices.

"The ticket prices for Wembley will not change," Infantino explained. "The ticket sales have already started and the president expressed his opinion about that."
