ATHENS, March 20 (Reuters) - Olympiakos Piraeus clinched their 38th Greek Super League crown on Sunday in emphatic style with a 6-0 home derby victory over AEK Athens at the Georgios Karaiskakis stadium.
Ernesto Valverde’s team got off to a flying start and were 3-0 up inside 20 minutes thanks to goals from former AEK striker Raffik Djebbour, Olof Mellberg and David Fuster.
Another Djebbour strike and goals from top scorer Kevin Mirallas and Jose Holebas ensured their 13th straight home victory and the championship with three matches to spare ahead of deposed champions and rivals Panathinaikos.
Valverde’s men have 67 points from 27 matches and hold a 10-point lead over Panathinaikos who defeated Kerkyra 2-1.
