United hero: Who knows if I will play there again?

Manchester United legend David Beckham has refused to rule out a return to the Premier League when his LA Galaxy contract expires in November.

The evergreen 35-year-old spent six-weeks training with Tottenham Hotspur having initially failed to secure a loan deal at White Hart Lane, but during the January transfer window as many as seven other Premier League clubs were credited with an interest in England’s most capped outfield player. Blackburn Rovers, Stoke City, West Ham United, Wigan Athletic, Sunderland, Newcastle United and Everton were all rumoured to be exploring the possibility of a six-month loan deal for Beckham, and although he could yet extend his career in the US beyond his current deal, the midfielder has hinted a return to England remains a distinct possibility.

Beckham spent the best part of a decade at Old Trafford winning six Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the 1999 Champions League before moving to Real Madrid in 2003.

Although Beckham has never hidden his undiminished affinity for United, the former Red Devil has refused to rule out one final crack at the Premier League.

Beckham is quoted by the People newspaper: “I had a great career in England for 12-13 years - who knows if I will play there again?

“I'm getting older now and I don't have many years left.

“This is my last contract year in the USA, but who knows what will happen?”
