Scunthorpe v Leicester preview

Team news ahead of Saturday afternoon's Championship clash between Scunthorpe and Leicester at Glanford Park.

Scunthorpe boss Ian Baraclough looks set to be boosted by the return of midfielder Michael O'Connor for the game.

The Northern Irishman has been sidelined since January with a knee problem but returned to training this week and may come into contention for a starting role.

The Iron's injury list is beginning to ease, with goalkeeper Joe Murphy (ankle), midfielder Garry Thompson (groin), and right-back Cliff Byrne (back) possibly their only absentees.

Baraclough was left bitterly disappointed by his side's display in the 2-1 defeat at Barnsley in midweek and could ring the changes for the visit of the Foxes.

The Oakwell reverse left Baraclough's men four points behind fourth-bottom Crystal Palace but with a game in hand on the Eagles.

Jeffrey Bruma is battling to be fit for Leicester.

The centre-half, on loan from Chelsea, was absent with a groin strain on Tuesday night as Norwich became the first side to beat the Foxes in a league game at the Walkers Stadium since Sven-Goran Eriksson took charge at the start of October.

"We didn't think it was serious but he tried to train at the start of the week and he felt it," said Eriksson. "He has had a scan but, fingers crossed, he might be available for Scunthorpe."

Eriksson would be tempted to recall Bruma if the Dutchman is fit and the manager may consider other changes to the starting line-up with a possible recall for winger Paul Gallagher, who scored the Foxes' second goal against Norwich deep into stoppage time.

Fellow wideman Lloyd Dyer, defender Miguel Vitor and striker Martyn Waghorn are also available for recalls.

Leicester's play-off charge has hit the buffers recently after a four-game winless run, including three defeats.
