Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola is to stay in hospital for another day because of his back problems, the Spanish champions said on Friday.
Guardiola, 40, has been in Barcelona's Dexeus hospital since Thursday due to a slipped disc. He will probably be released on Saturday but will not be on the Barca bench for the home game against lowly Zaragoza later in the day.
In his place on the bench will be assistant coach Tito Vilanova.
It is still not clear whether Guardiola will have to undergo an operation, but he aims to be back for Tuesday's Champions League match against Arsenal in which Barca need to overturn a 2-1 first leg deficit.
Guardiola had been complaining about back pains for two weeks but insisted on accompanying his team to Valencia on Wednesday for a crucial league match.
Barca won 1-0, which kept them seven points clear atop La Liga, but Guardiola was in obvious pain and checked into the hospital as soon as the team returned to Barcelona early on Thursday.
