East Fife manager John Robertson looks set to raid the club`s youth side for players to face Brechin.
Robertson has lost Robert Sloan, Mark McCulloch, Steven Hislop and Stevie Campbell from his squad through injury.
He said: "I will need to bring in a couple of kids which it is not ideal for the visit of a strong Brechin side, but come 3 o'clock on Saturday we will be nice and positive and looking for the three points.
"You can never relax in this league and it has been one step forward and one back for East Fife during most of this season.
"Hopefully we can make a step forward against Brechin and then do the same against Ayr in midweek and move up the table."
Brechin defender Paul McLean is banned for the clash.
Manager Jim Weir is hoping centre-back Ewan Moyes recovers in time from the virus that forced him to miss training on Thursday evening.
Midfielder Charlie King remains injured, however defender Gerry McLauchlan and striker Rory McAllister are available after suspension.
Weir has called on his players to start a busy schedule of games in a positive way by seeing off the Fifers .
He said: "I have asked the players to show that we are up for the challenge of chasing Livingston all the way by winning at East Fife. That will set us up really nicely for meeting Gary Bollan's side on Tuesday."
