Udinese coach Francesco Guidolin insists his players are not getting carried away with their lofty position as they prepare to meet Bologna in Serie A.

The Friuli outfit have been one of the surprise packages of this year and currently sit sixth in the table, two points and two places behind Inter Milan.

Udinese have won four of their last five matches, including last weekend's 2-1 victory at Juventus that followed their 3-1 triumph over Inter.

Moreover, the Bianconeri remain unbeaten at the Friuli stadium since September 19 and have won their last six games at home.

"We have to allow our fans to dream," said Guidolin. "But in order to do so, we cannot fall asleep.

"In a couple of months we will see where we stand.

"We simply cannot get over-confident, we have to take it one game at a time.

"Wins give you further motivation and an added strength but I have a very serious side that works hard and will continue to do so."

Udinese striker Antonio Di Natale agrees they still have a lot of work to do.

"We deserve to be in the position we are currently in," he said. "We all want to do something important this season but there is still a long way to go.

"We must continue to get positive results in order to finish as high as possible in the standings."

Bologna travel to Udine fully rested after their game against Roma at the weekend was called off due to bad weather.

The Rossoblu have lost just once in their last five games and head into Wednesday's encounter in 14th place, five points clear of the relegation zone.

The hosts will have to do without pivotal winger Alexis Sanchez, who serves a one-match ban.
