Posted Tuesday, February 01, 2011 by PA
Robert Sloan missed a second-half penalty for struggling East Fife as they drew 0-0 with Forfar.
East Fife almost took the lead after seven minutes but James Hamilton's header was saved by Scott Gallacher while Forfar's Bryan Deasley saw his 20-yard shot come back off a post after 18 minutes.
The visitors almost broke the deadlock two minutes after the interval, but Steven Hislop's close-range header came back off the post.
East Fife were awarded a penalty in the 68th minute when Darren Brady fouled David Muir in the area but Sloan could not take advantage as his spot-kick was parried to safety by Gallacher.
Forfar could have snatched all three points late on but Martyn Fotheringham fired over from 12 yards.
