AC Milan have announced the signing of Nicola Legrottaglie from Juventus on a six-month contract.
The 34-year-old moves to the San Siro until the end of June as Massimiliano Allegri aims to ensure his squad has the depth to continue a Serie A title challenge.
Legrottaglie left Juventus after Sunday's home defeat to Udinese and the transfer follows the deal for Espanyol defender Didac Vila, whose move is subject to a medical.
A short club statement read: "AC Milan announce the signing on a permanent basis of Nicola Legrottaglie, who has signed a deal until 30th June."
Milan lead Serie A by four points following Saturday's 2-0 win at Catania as they attempt to secure a first league title since 2004.
