Doonhamers duo missing

Queen of the South will be without suspended duo David Lilley and Bob Harris against Ross County.

Skipper Lilley and defender Harris are the only players unavailable to manager Kenny Brannigan in what will be the Doonhamers' first home league fixture in 80 days.

Brannigan is looking for his men to launch a title challenge by picking up maximum points.

He said: "With Falkirk defeating Raith Rovers and Dunfermline losing at Partick Thistle we can push ourselves into contention by winning our games in hand.

"We can be as good as anyone in this league but we need to put points on board to prove it."

The Dingwall men will be difficult opponents, with Brannigan adding, "Ross County will be feeling hard done by after losing late at Morton and will be going all out to make amends."

Ross County have added striker Steven Craig to the list of absentees for the trip.

Craig was carried off during Saturday's defeat at Morton and will play no part against the Doonhamers.

The injured Darren McCormack, Paul Lawson and Michael Gardyne remain on the sidelines, with Gary Miller missing a second game through suspension.

Dingwall boss Willie McStay is out to win for the first time as a manager in Scotland and is using the defeat at Greenock as motivation.

He said: "Losing on Saturday hurt us as we had been moving them all over the pitch in the first half and were well worth our lead.

"We have the chance to end this disappointing wee run that we are on results wise at Palmerston Park."
