Brechin City manager Jim Weir is tempted to bring Gerry McLauchlan back into his starting line-up for the visit of Alloa.

The defender had hernia surgery last month and came through a bounce game against junior side Newtongrange Star this week.

Midfielder Charlie King remains out with an ankle injury with Weir wary of meeting an Alloa side that have fallen from grace recently and lost heavily to bottom side Dumbarton on Tuesday night.

Weir said: "They are only one result away from kick-starting their season and they will want to defeat us to move ahead on points.

"Allan Maitland will want to put pressure on ourselves when it comes to playing games in hand so I know we will be up against very determined opponents."

Alloa manager Allan Maitland is planning a re-shuffle in his side.

Maitland saw his side go down to a 4-1 defeat to Dumbarton in midweek and will make changes with striker Bryan Prunty ruled out with an ankle injury.

Long-term injury victim Brown Ferguson remains out with Maitland saying: "Apart from Bryan there will be a few changes to help us get back on the rails after a really disappointing night at Dumbarton.

"Brechin is always a hard place to go to so we have to put on a far better defensive display than we did on Tuesday.

"We have decent players here and I will ensure that they are in a positive frame of mind before we take the field."
