Real Madrid General Director Jorge Valdano Reiterates: I Have No Problem With Jose Mourinho

Real Madrid general director Jorge Valdano has once again been quick to deny reports of a breakdown in communication with coach Jose Mourinho.

The pair are believed to have a strained relationship behind the scenes, with the Portuguese tactician finding it difficult to work alongside the Argentine on a day-to-day basis.

Valdano however quashed rumours of a confrontation with the former Chelsea and Inter coach, adding that the speculation is completely unfounded.

He retorted: “There are crazy things being said. It makes no sense that these thoughts have been reinforced in recent days. Since Sunday, we have had dinner together, we talk constantly, and just yesterday he sent me a message.”

Valdano also refuted rumours that his post-match interview after the 1-1 draw with Almeria was in any way a personal attack on Mourinho, adding: “My turn of phrase was not interpreted as a message, that was not my intention. I ask you to watch the full interview again and see what I say to the coach after the game.”

Finally, on the potential capture of Ruud van Nistelrooy form Hamburg, he concluded: “We are on it. This week we hope to have definite news on this debate.”
