Dumbarton include striker Pat Walker for the final time as his three-match spell as a trialist ends against Stenhousemuir.

Sons' interim boss Allan Adamson, who has been unable to add any new faces to his squad, has a couple of players that should shake off niggles as his side look for a win that would lift them from bottom.

He said: "This is a big opportunity for us as a win would lift us above Stenhousemuir. It has been a long couple of months seeing a static league table showing Dumbarton stuck at the bottom on 10 points.

"They will have had a boost after beating Threave in the cup and having a new manager in, so we have to play well."

Stenhousemuir are sweating on the fitness of Grant Anderson.

The winger is struggling after picking up an injury in the Scottish Cup win over Threave in midweek.

Defender Scott Gibb and striker Simon Lynch remain out, but Scott Dalziel came through his comeback at Meadow Park after injury and is included in the Warrior's travelling party.

Recently appointed manager David Irons said: "My objective from this game is to ensure that the gap between Dumbarton and ourselves gets bigger or at the very least does not get any less than the 2 points.

"It will be a tough game and after a win apiece between the sides this season I am envisaging another tight encounter."
