Rangers Draw Celtic In Scottish Cup Fifth Round

Old Firm rivals Rangers and Celtic will face each other in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup following Tuesday afternoon's draw at Hampden Park.

The Glasgow giants met only nine days previously in their second Premier League derby of the season, with Celtic emerging 2-0 winners, but will now stage a rematch at Ibrox on the weekend of February 5/6.

It is the first time since 2005 that the two clubs have met in the Scottish Cup, with Celtic winning that third round tie 2-1 thanks to goals from Chris Sutton and John Hartson.

Rangers progressed to the fifth round with a comfortable 3-0 home win over Kilmarnock on Monday evening, with Celtic having defeated Third Division minnows Berwick Rangers 2-0 on Sunday.

There will be at least one non-SPL club in the quarter-final draw, as East Stirling or Buckie Thistle will face Queen of the South or Brechin City in the fifth round.

Holders Dundee United face an away trip to Hamilton but only if they overcome last year's finalists Ross County in their fourth round replay.

With a host of ties being postponed due to inclement weather, the only tie that is set in stone at present is the Rangers-Celtic clash.
