Cheryl, 27, has taken things slowly with triple Dancing With The Stars winner Derek after her divorce last year from ASHLEY COLE.
Intriguingly, a local bar worker who spoke to Cheryl said he saw a photo of soccer star Ashley as a screensaver on her mobile phone.
He said: "She spent a lot of time texting."
But the earlier source added: "Derek's been a rock for Cheryl for a long time now and she has fallen for him.
"She has been reluctant to talk because she made the mistake of being vocal about her relationship with Ashley - and that backfired when their marriage went wrong.
"She doesn't want that to happen again."
