Elland Road: Home of Leeds United
Leeds United have started very well on their return to Championship football but they will be hoping to cut out the silly mistakes if they are to clinch a return to the Premier League – a place their fans believe they deserve to be.
They will kick off 2011 against Middlesbrough, who are still struggling to come to terms with the nPower Championship following their relegation from the Premier League two seasons ago.
Leeds sit in fourth place, but are level on points with second-placed Cardiff City, and they will be looking to pick up their 12th win of the season to give them a good chance of starting the New Year in second.
Middlesbrough, who sacked Gordon Strachan early in the season, are struggling at the moment in 21st spot and new boss Tony Mowbray will be in desperate need of their eighth win to move further away from the relegation places.
Last time out Leeds blew a 3-1 lead as Portsmouth came back to grab a sensational 3-3 draw at Elland Road, while Middlesbrough picked up a much-needed three points with a 3-1 win over fellow strugglers Preston North End.
