Fulham Manager Mark Hughes Distances Himself From Move For Manchester City Goalkeeper Shay Given

Fulham manager Mark Hughes has distanced himself from reports he is set to move for Manchester City goalkeeper Shay Given.
The Cottagers have been linked with numerous players within the last few weeks, but Hughes suggested that many of the rumours had little element of truth.
"We're getting linked with a lot of players, a number in the press today. More often than not they're normally wide of the mark, so that's what I would suggest with some of the names this morning in fairness," Hughes told reporters.
City keeper Given has reiterated his desire to leave Eastlands after losing the number one shirt to England international Joe Hart, but Hughes insisted he only wants players that will boost the team.
"We obviously look at what's available and if we think the quality is going to enhance what we have then hopefully there'll be situations we can pursue and we'll get close to doing deals," he said.
"But it's not easy because when you're going for top players it needs significant funds to conclude deals so we have to be careful with what resources we have," he continued.
As well as Given, the Cottagers have also been linked with players such as Roque Santa Cruz and Shaun Wright- Phillips, all players that Hughes signed whilst manager at Manchester City.
