Milan striker Alexandre Pato picked up an injury in the 3-1 win over Palermo on Wednesday and scans have now revealed the player will be out for six weeks.
It was already known the Brazilian would miss this weekend's crucial Milan derby versus Inter, but tests have now confirmed he will be sidelined until late next month.
A statement on the Rossoneri's official website read:
"The head of health at AC Milan, Dr. Gianluca Melegati, has communicated that medical examinations have revealed an injury of the second-degree to the myotendinous junction of the left hamstring," explained the release.
"Expected recovery time is around six weeks."
Despite limited playing time this season due to injuries, the 21-year-old has bagged six goals in eight Serie A appearances and is placed at 120 in the Castrol Rankings, one of the top strikers in Serie A.
It's more bad news for the Rossoneri, who recently lost veteran striker Filippo Inzaghi for the rest of the season due to injury.
