Stranraer had to come back from a goal behind to defeat Elgin 2-1 at Stair Park and remain top of the Third division by two points.

A goal in either half for the league leaders saw off Elgin, who in the end left the field with only 10 men.

Elgin took the lead on seven minutes through Jason Crooks from the spot after Armand One had fouled Jamie Duff.

Stranraer had missed chances through Scott Agnew and Sean Winter before One redeemed himself by slotting the ball into the bottom corner from close range to level.

Stranraer piled on the pressure in the second half with efforts from Daniel Mitchell and Winter, but Elgin stopper Scott Bain was in fine form.

Bain was eventually defeated by Agnew from the spot after Duff had fouled One.

City's David Niven was sent off in the last minute for a foul on Winter.
