Mainz upset by Alemannia Aachen in German Cup

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP)—Second-division Alemannia Aachen upset Bundesliga leader Mainz 2-1 in the second round of the German Cup on Wednesday.
Former Mainz player Benjamin Auer put Aachen ahead after 26 minutes and Marco Hoeger doubled the lead in the 60th before Adam Szalai pulled one back for Mainz. Mainz coach Thomas Tuchel was sent off late in the game for arguing with the referee.
