BOLTON, England (AP)—Substitute Ivan Klasnic scored in injury time before being sent off Saturday, giving Bolton its first home win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Stoke in the Premier League.
Klasnic met a long ball from Gretar Steinsson before spinning around and firing home a shot from 16 yards (meters). However, he then picked up two quick yellow cards to be sent off.
Bolton midfielder Lee Chung-yong ended his nine-month goal drought for the club to open the scoring in the 22nd, shooting past Thomas Sorensen from 19 yards.
Rory Delap equalized in the 48th with his first goal since January 2009. The ball fell to Delap after a corner and hey volleyed home from five yards.
Stoke, which had three wins and a draw from their previous four league matches, could have taken the lead in the 15th but both Robert Huth and Abdoulaye Faye failed to connect with an inswinging corner by Matthew Etherington.
Bolton created few chances before the opening goal, when Lee pounced on a loose ball that had bounced of Faye to send his hard shot past Sorensen.
Stoke nearly drew level just after the half-hour mark when Jermaine Pennant’s dipping 25-yard free kick struck the top of the crossbar.
Fabrice Muamba then could have made it 2-0, but his first-time drive narrowly cleared the bar after he had been teed up by Davies.
In first-half injury time, Sorensen produced a superb one-handed save in turning aside a rasping drive from Martin Petrov.
From the ensuing corner to the far post, Davies missed a good chance as he steered a header wide.
