Nigel de Jong breaks Hatem Ben Arfa's leg with his tackle at Eastlands on 3 October.
Marseille may look to sue the Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong over the tackle that resulted in a double leg fracture for the forward Hatem Ben Arfa, currently on loan at Newcastle United.
Jean-Claude Dassier, the chairman of Marseille, said that the club may look for further sanctions. "We will file a complaint against De Jong," he told the French news website Téléfoot. "It's about getting rid of this type of individual from European grounds."
The incident, which occurred in the Premier League game on 3 October, saw De Jong escape without a booking and Ben Arfa carried off on a stretcher needing oxygen.
The tackle has provoked stinging criticism of De Jong, with the Holland manager Bert van Marwijk even going so far as to omit the combative midfielder from his squad for the current round of Euro 2012 qualifiers.
