Peterhead v Alloa - Peterhead looking for first win

I have a say

Peterhead are looking to defeat Alloa and achieve their first league win of the season with manager Neale Cooper remaining perplexed at how his side find themselves in that position.

The Blue Toon cause is not helped by defender Bobby Mann, midfielder Nicky Clark and striker Davie Ross all being ruled out through injury, with full-back Daniel Moore rated as doubtful because of a hamstring problem.

Cooper said: "It is really strange as we are playing some of the best football we have played during my time here but are simply not getting the results.

"It would be great to put that right against Alloa and we will need to play well to do that as Allan Maitland's side are always extremely well organised."

Alloa midfielder Darren Smith has shaken off the knock he took against Dumbarton last week to leave manager Allan Maitland missing only midfielder Brown Ferguson and striker Stuart Noble through injury.

Maitland reckons that hosts Peterhead will soon start climbing off the foot of the table, however he will be more than happy if it takes the Blue Toon another week before they do so.

He said: "I am surprised to see Neale's side where they are as but I am sure they will be before long as they really good players particularly from midfield onwards.

"If it takes them another game before they pick up three points that is fine by me."
