Dumbarton v Brechin City - Dumbarton faces tough goalkeeper choice

Dumbarton manager Jim Chapman will have to choose between fit again goalkeeper Stephen Grindlay and his deputy, Michael White, who has kept a clean sheet in both of the Sons' last two games, for service against visitors Brechin City.

In attack Chapman does not have so many options as Jon McShane is out with ankle ligament damage and Ross Campbell, Graham Wilson and Mark Gilhaney all face late fitness tests.

Chapman said: "Michael has done really well whereas Stephen has pushed himself really hard to get fit again quickly so I have a dilemma.

"We have made some steps forward recently and the past couple of weeks and have been a lot better than the earlier weeks of the season."

Brechin manager Jim Weir has only one injury concern after his side's midweek Co-operative Insurance Cup defeat at the hands of Motherwell, with defender David White toiling to face Dumbarton.

Weir said: "Everyone else in the Brechin squad is available for selection, however big Davie is suffering from a bit of cramp which is not really surprising following his first start in 21 months.

"We did okay against Motherwell and would have done better if we had taken our chances.

"If we get chances down at Dumbarton we have to take them and I have told that to everyone not just the strikers.

"Whoever gets a chance in the final third, be they a striker midfielder or a defender we need them to be ruthless."
