Ayr United v Stenhousemuir - Ayr receive double boost
Posted Saturday, September 25, 2010 by PA
Ayr United have added defender Eddie Malone and midfielder Ryan McCann to their squad on a permanent basis ahead of their match with Stenhousemuir.
Defender Bobby Donnelly remains out and Martyn Campbell is a doubt as the Honest Men look to build on their 3-2 away win at East Fife last Saturday.
That game was won by a hat-trick of Mark Roberts penalties, however the striker will not feature against the Warriors following his red card in Fife.
Somerset Park manager Brian Reid said: "We need to build on that win and three points from this game could see us attacking a play-off place. Our squad is getting stronger now and it would be good to get a win in front of our own fans."
Stenhousemuir will again include trialist striker Mark Archdeacon in their squad.
They will be without four players, including former Ayr favourite Alex Williams, who remains absent because of a virus.
Goalkeeper Chris McLuskey continues to be out along with striker Simon Lynch, because of ankle injuries, with defender Steven Thomson also missing because of a knock.
Scott Fusco is available after suspension and then illness kept him out, however Warriors Chief John Coughlin is unlikely to make many changes to the side that defeated Forfar 3-0 last Saturday.
He said: "It was good to get three points again but the players know that one win in four is not a good enough ratio for us."
