Second-half improvement stirs Queens

Queen of the South came to life in the second half to grab a 2-1 win over Partick Thistle.
Returning Partick defender Alan Archibald had an injury setback and had to be replaced early on but it did not set the visitors back too much and they went ahead on 37 minutes thanks to Iain Flannigan.
Flannigan picked up the ball 25 yards out and his low effort flew into the Queen of the South goal.
Partick started the second period the better, but Kris Doolan's strike was saved by David Hutton, and it was the home side who took the points after they staged a late revival.
The equalising goal came when Allan Johnston struck on 76 minutes after he was slid in by Paul Burns.
They then grabbed a winner on 87 minutes when Rocco Quinn's 20-yard effort went beyond Bryn Halliwell in the Partick goal.
