East Fife manager Steve Crawford could include former Rangers and Partick Thistle defender Stevie Campbell in his squad for the visit of Ayr.

Campbell came through a reserve game in midweek after nine months out following a knee injury.

On-loan Falkirk defender Stewart Murdoch has been receiving treatment, but is rated only 50/50, while strikers Bobby Linn and Kurtis Byrne should both shake off knocks to be included.

Crawford said: "(Ayr manager) Brian Reid will want a response after their defeat last weekend and I was far from pleased with our second-half showing against Forfar, I'm expecting a response as well."

Ayr could be without influential trio Dean Keenan, Stephen McKeown and Bobby Donnelly for the clash at East Fife

Midfielder Keenan is back from suspension, but picked up a knock in a midweek reserve game and is rated as doubtful, defender Donnelly remains sidelined through injury and midfielder McKeown is also unavailable.

Manager Brian Reid is looking to bolster his squad with a couple of trialists, but the Honest Men have ended their interest in experienced goalkeeper Alan Main after his three-game trial period and goalkeeper David Crawford is expected to be back for the trip to Fife.

Reid said: "We're all looking to put the Alloa game behind us. We need a positive response and the best response would be a win at East Fife."
