The Irish are looking for a second successive win in Group B...

Flying High

The Republic of Ireland commenced their qualifying campaign for the Euro 2012 finals with a hugely encouraging 1-0 win against Armenia away from home on Friday. It might have been a victory by a single-goal margin but the Irish did put up a strong performance.

Giovanni Trapattoni's men will hope to emulate the same performance on Tuesday against another European lightweight Andorra. Looking ahead to the game at the Aviva Stadium, Keith Fahey, scorer of the winner against Armenia, said, "It will be important to us to get the three points and finish the two games on six. We can't really be looking around at the other countries, but as a group it would be a great boost for the squad."

The Birmingham City midfielder continued, "We will be looking to get three points - if we get three points, it will be a nice start to the group. But it will be a tough game - all international games are tough, and they will be hard to break down."

Whipping Boys

Andorra were at home to Russia on Friday for their opening game in the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign on Friday and convincingly lost 2-0. The European minnows have never qualified for any major competition and they are not expected to do so this time either.

A defeat to Ireland away from home is expected but the visitors should try to see that they do not lose by a huge margin.
