Queen of the South boss Kenny Brannigan will have to make changes to his side when Ross County make the trip to Dumfries.
Captain David Lilley is suspended and youngster Danny Carmichael is ruled out through injury.
But Ryan McGuffie has shaken off his hamstring problem and can be included, while Brannigan hoping to bring in a loan player before kick-off.
Brannigan said: "We have shown against Cowdenbeath and Forfar how well we can play and now we need to show it against a really good Ross County side that will be on a high after defeating St Mirren."
Ross County travel to Queen of the South with striker Andy Barrowman the only absentee because of his broken metatarsal.
Despite their gruelling cup-tie win over St Mirren in midweek manager Derek Adams is looking forward to the game.
He said: "Palmerston is a long way to go and always a difficult venue so it is not the kindest fixture to have just three days after that game, however we will go there with confidence.
"The players were magnificent during the week and I am looking for us to hit those heights again to pick up some more league points.
"I know Queen of the South mixed things up with a slightly different formation against Forfar so I am waiting with interest how they line up against us."
