Argentine star wants friend at Camp Nou...

Talismanic Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has backed the potential signing of fellow Argentinian Javier Mascherano from Liverpool, stating that his national team captain would fit in "perfectly" at Camp Nou.
Despite Reds manager Roy Hodgson and Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizaretta both playing down talk of a possible transfer for the 26-year-old, Sport claim that a bid of €15 million plus Aliaksandr Hleb has been made by the Spanish champions.
It is also claimed that Messi is trying to convince 'Masch' to reject former coach Rafa Benitez's approaches by turning down a move to European champions Inter in favour of a switch to Catalunya.
"El Jefecito [Mascherano] would be a great boost for Barca. He has the quality to play for Barcelona and his character would fit in perfectly at the club," Messi is quoted as saying.
