The chief has hit back...

Argentina football chief Julio Grondona has denied the accusations levelled at him by former coach Diego Maradona. 'El Diego' claimed that both team manager Carlos Bilardo and Grondona had betrayed him.
The 49-year-old stated that Grondona had assured him he would remain the coach of the South American giants despite their defeat to Germany in the quarter-finals of the World Cup, but the AFA president insists that he made no such promises.
"I continue to regret that he's gone because it's very sad but I never lied to Maradona," Grondona said, according to Sky Sports. "I told him in Pretoria that I was satisfied and that he could stay on, but that the conditions would not be the same, that he had to make some vital changes."
Carlos Bilardo has also hit back at the former Albiceleste tactician, saying that Maradona was in control while he was the coach.
