James: Fear not a factor
Posted Saturday, June 19, 2010 by PA
David James has rejected Fabio Capello's claim that England played with fear in their disappointing 0-0 draw with Algeria.
Restored to Capello's starting line-up for the first time in over 14 months and making his first appearance in a World Cup game, there was little reason for the Portsmouth stopper to celebrate his clean sheet after a dire display from his team-mates.
In grasping for a reason why his players should perform so poorly, Capello claimed an element of fear had returned, but when this was put to James he retorted: "Did he? Arguably it is more frustration than fear."
