McAllister sends Brechin through

Rory McAllister proved to be the hero as Brechin booked their place in the Scottish First Division play-off final with a 3-1 aggregate win over Airdrie.
Brechin went into the game with a 2-1 advantage from the first leg but Airdrie almost hauled themselves back into the tie inside the opening 11 minutes as Scott McLaughlin's drilled effort hit the crossbar.
Airdrie continued to push forward in search of a goal but Diarmuid O'Carroll's right-foot strike was well parried by Craig Nelson in the Brechin goal.
The hosts continued to miss chances and were made to pay the price as McAllister fired home a right-foot shot from 20 yards shortly after the hour mark.
Darren Smith, Paul Keegan and Scott Gemmill all failed to convert their chances, while Nelson produced a fine save to keep out Kevin McDonald as Brechin held on to book their place in the final against Cowdenbeath.
