LONDON (SE) - Bolton caused a surprise with a 2-1 win over relegation rivals Bolton at Upton Park.
It was Owen Coyle’s first away win as a Premier League manager and allowed Bolton to swap places with West Ham to go 13th among a closely-packed cluster of teams above the relegation places.
Kevin Davies put Bolton ahead in the tenth minute with a close range header and six minutes later Jack Wilshere, on loan from Arsenal, added a second.
Bolton had Tamir Cohen sent off in the 70th minute for a second bookable offence.
Alessandro Diamanti pulled a goal back for West Ham in the 88th minute and in stoppage time, Junior Stanislas struck the Bolton bar.
