Toluca beat Indios 3-0 at Estadio Nemesio Diez on Sunday for their second win of the season.

Toluca broke through in their previous home match and on Sunday found their comfort zone.

After beating America 3-1 on Feb. 17 at home for their first win of the season, Toluca repeated their goal output and beat Indios 3-0 on Sunday at Estadio Nemesio Diez.

The result gave Toluca a 2-2-4 record and moved the club to within two points of Atlas for the third-place spot in Group 1.

Indios, meanwhile, remain in line for relegation after falling to 0-5-3 on the season.

First Half

Carlos Esquivel opened the scoring in the 16th minute. Esquivel took control of the ball on the left flank and carried the ball towards the top of the penalty area. With about six Indios defenders near him, Esquivel found a seam in the defense and ripped a left-footed shot from 20 yards out and sent it into the back of the net.

Late in the frist half, Hector Mancilla drew a pnealty kick. Mancilla held the ball near the top of the box and tried to cut through four Indios defenders. He got through and was about to head towards the goal when Juan De la Barrera dragged him down.

Mancilla stepped to the spot and sent his attempt to the left side of the goal but Indios 'keeper Christian Martinez dived and blocked the shot.

Second Half

To their credit, Indios hung around and played Toluca tough in the early part of the second half. Emil Martinez nearly pulled Indios level when he beat Alfredo Talavera midway through the half but his shot hit the corner of the goal and bounced harmlessly away.

But in the 78th minute, Esquivel and Mancilla combined on the game's second goal. Esquivel raced down the rigth side of the box and slid just as the ball was about to go over the end line. He lifted a pass to the front of the goal and Mancilla jumped and easily headed the attempt past Martinez.

Vladimir Marin put an exclamation mark on the match. Antonio Naelson "Zinha" found Marin in front of the net and laid a ball off to him. Marin unloaded a left-footed rocket past Martinez to give Toluca their second consecutive home victory.
