The Mexican Football Federation has not yet announced any of their pre-World Cup friendlies but another federation has gone ahead and done some work for the FMF.
The Chilean federation announced their own pre-World Cup friendly schedule and a date against Mexico is on their calendar.
Chile will visit Mexico in Estadio Azteca on May 16 in what will likely be Mexico's last game on Mexican soil before leaving for the United States, then Europe and finally South Africa.
Federation president Harold Mayne-Nicholls said for the game against Mexico, Chile would "play with our players who are in Chile alogn with those who have finished their obligations abroad."
Chile will also play two games 22 hours apart on March 3, against Costa Rica and North Korea. Mayne-Nicholls said the coaching staff would use a deep roster for both games.
El Tricolor, meanwhile, could also play games against Bolivia (Feb. 24 in San Francisco), New Zealand (March 3 in Pasadena, Calif.), Ecuador (May 7 in New York) and the Netherlands (May 26 in Austria). So far, no opponents have surfaced for Mexico's planned friendly dates of March 17 (in Mexico), March 24 (in the U.S.), May 10 and 13 (both in the U.S.) and May 23 and 30 (both in Europe).
