City are 'right club' - Tevez

Carlos Tevez claims he is now at the right club after joining Manchester City from Manchester United.

The Argentina forward has stoked up the rivalry between the clubs with his brace in the first leg of their Carling Cup semi-final clash at Eastlands last week and his subsequent spat with United captain Gary Neville.

City stepped in to sign Tevez in the summer when the Red Devils decided not to turn his loan deal into a permanent arrangement, and the 25-year-old quoted in the Daily Mirror, said: "I feel I've shown I'm at the right club now. Everyone knows how important the fans are at this club and, if I make them happy, it's an honour.

He added: "The welcome I received from the moment I arrived at City has been very special. I was made to feel loved and this means a lot to any footballer.

"I think the United fans know I tried hard. City is my club now, a place where I feel part of everything. Maybe this wasn't always the way at United."

Tevez gestured to Neville warming up on the sidelines after scoring his first goal of the match last week, indicating he felt the United skipper had spoken out of turn by saying Sir Alex Ferguson was right to let the South American leave Old Trafford.

Tevez then described Neville as "an idiot" and a "boot-licker" in an Argentinian radio interview, adding even more intrigue to Wednesday night's second leg at Old Trafford.
