Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio has committed himself to the club until 2013 by signing a new contract on Monday.
The Switzerland international arrived at the club midway through last season and made a major contribution to them winning their first ever Bundesliga title.
"Diego Benaglio is an important foundation of our team," said coach Armin Veh. "We are delighted to have been able to secure the long-term services of another important team member."
The Wolves have recently given long-term deals to strikers Edin Dzeko and Grafite as well as captain Josue, Alexander Madlung, Sascha Riether and Zvjezdan Misimovic.
And Benaglio has now set his sights on further success over the next three and a half years.
"I feel very happy with Wolfsburg and am looking forward to continuing my work here," he said.
"We have an ambitious team and I would like to play my part in establishing Wolfsburg at the top of the Bundesliga and developing internationally."
