Magath reveals trepidation

Schalke manager Felix Magath admitted his side are not yet ready for the start of the Bundesliga season after they defeated second division side Saarbrucken 2-0 in a friendly on Wednesday night.
Goals from Ivan Rakitic and new signing Lewis Holtby ensured the Royal Blues won their final warm-up game before travelling to fifth division side Germania Windeck in the DFB-Pokal on Saturday.
"I expect my team to be more dominant against teams from a lower league. But the game showed that we are not yet far enough to be ready for the Bundesliga start," Magath told the club's official website.
Their opening-day opponents from Bavaria looked to be in better form as they defeated Qatar side Al Arabi 5-3 on Wednesday.
Angelos Charisteas, Daniel Gygax, Albert Bunjaku (2) and Gungor Kaya were all on target for Nurnberg against the side coached by German coach Uli Stielike.
